Scene: Kitchen. Cleaning up after dinner. Mom putting away dishes; Jake filling up water bottles.
Mom: Hey, Jake, can that wait? You're right in the way.
Jake: I'm just doing what you ask me to do. You're always getting on me for not doing it, and the one time I do, you don't want me to.
Mom: Well, yeah, but right now you're more of a hindrance than help.
Jake: (Pause) I am not going to respond to that until I have a lawyer and a dictionary.
